Modi may get me killed, says Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah could stoop so low that they could get him and his party members assassinated in political vendetta.
In a video uploaded on his Facebook account, Mr. Kejriwal asked all his MLAs to be prepared as every one of them would eventually be sent to jail by Mr. Modi. “But going to jail is a small sacrifice that you [MLAs] will have to make, as a much bigger conspiracy is at play,” he said to his party men through the video.
On Wednesday, at the AAP’s Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh’s residence, Income Tax officials conducted a raid and later in the evening, Narela MLA Sharad Chauhan was picked up by the police for questioning in AAP volunteer Soni’s suicide case.
Since Sunday, two AAP MLAs have been arrested, three different FIRs have been filed against AAP MLA Rajesh Rishi, Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal, and AAP’s youth wing chief Aman Dabas, and their MP Bhagwant Mann has been suspended. And in the past year and a half since the AAP came to power, 11 MLAs have been sent to judicial custody.
“You have unleashed your machinery — CBI, Delhi Police, ACB and now Income Tax — after our MLAs. But Mr. Modi, we aren’t scared of you anymore,” the Delhi Chief Minister said.
Asking his party men to ponder as it was a crucial time, Mr. Kejriwal warned the MLAs that the fight between the AAP and the Centre was going to get dirtier and dangerous.
“All of you discuss it with your families. They can go to any extent and may kill us. They can kill me as well. They are capable of doing anything,” the CM said.
