Professor arrested for molesting student

Mumbai: A professor, Mahendra Bhandare (45), was arrested for allegedly molesting a 19-year-old junior college student in the examination hall of a Vile Parle college on Monday. Bhandare was arrested the next day after a complaint was registered.
The victim is a commerce student from a college in the western suburbs and had been allotted the Vile Parle institute as exam centre. In the complaint, the girl said, “The professor touched me inappropriately while checking the bar code on my hall ticket and signing the answer-sheet. It happened all of a sudden. I was unable to write the exam and left the exam incomplete.”

Bhandare was arrested and produced before a court on Wednesday. Principal of of the Vile Parle college said the management has initiated appropriate action against the teacher.
