Meeting Noma Dumezweni was like meeting my older self: Emma Watson
Actor Emma Watson says Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was amazing and it was emotional to meet Noma Dumezweni, who portrays Hermione Granger in the play.
The 26-year-old, who portrayed Hermione Granger in the wizard movie franchise, found seeing the London stage production, which is set 19 years after JK Rowling’s books and spin-off movies, made her feel connected to her wizard alter ego once again.
“Yesterday I went to see the Cursed Child. I came in with no idea what to expect and it was AMAZING. Some things about the play were, I think, possibly even more beautiful than the films.
“Having seen it I felt more connected to Hermione and the stories than I have since Deathly Hallows came out, which was such a gift,” she wrote on Facebook.
The Beauty and the Beast actor spent time backstage meeting the cast and crew of the production where she met Noma Dumezweni, who portrays Hermione in the the play.
“Meeting Noma and seeing her on stage was like meeting my older self and have her tell me everything was going to be alright, which as you can imagine was immensely comforting and emotional!
