Family members meet IS suspects on Eid
While the entire city was in a festive mood celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, it was a poignant day for families of the five men who were arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly planning a terror attack.
The family members of the suspects waited outside the NIA office at Chikoti Garden, with anxiety writ large on their face, for about half-an-hour before they were allowed to enter the building.
While police officials remained tight-lipped as to why the family members had gathered there, a security person said they were there to meet the five arrested, on the occasion of Eid.
Around 11.15 a.m., two cars carrying the five suspects, Mohammed Ibrahim Yazdani, Habeeb Mohammed, Mohammed Ilyas Yazdani, Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi and Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan, drove in. They were accompanied by officials in the two cars.
Half-an-hour later, the family members started to leave. Unwilling to reveal any details, one of them said they had just come to extend greetings.
