Nirankari chief’s funeral procession chokes Delhi roads
NEW DELHI: The funeral procession of Nirankari Sant Baba Hardev Singh has choked several major roads in the national capital with thousands out on the streets to pay last respects to the departed leader.
Delhi Police have issued a traffic advisory urging commuters to avoid certain roads.
Traffic has been closed from Kingsway Camp to Burari Road due to heavy pedestrian movement in the procession.
Delhi traffic police has advised motorists to take alternate route.
Followers from across the country have gathered in the city to catch a last glimpse of their guru. Sant Nirankari headed the religio-philanthropic Sant Nirankari Mission.
The 62-year-old Baba died along with his son-in-law in a road accident in Canada. The mortal remains were brought to Delhi on Monday morning.
