Emergency landing at IGI airport
The Indira Gandhi International Airport here witnessed some tense moments on Monday evening after an aircraft that was running low on fuel had to make an emergency landing.
The Kathmandu-Delhi flight of an Indian full-cost carrier was flying in on Monday evening when the commander noticed that the level of fuel in the airplane was on the downward side.
Not taking any chances, the commander requested the Delhi Air Traffic Control for priority landing.
This was allowed due to “less holding fuel” in the plane.
All emergency measures, including deployment of fire tenders, were made at the tarmac. The flight made an emergency, but safe, landing at the airport, sources at the airport said.
