Centre: No request for Lalit Modi’s extradition
The government told Parliament on Thursday that it was yet to receive any request by law enforcing agencies for extradition of former IPL chairman Lalit Modi who is facing charges of money laundering.
In reply to a question from TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy , minister of state for external affairs VK Singh said his ministry would take appropriate steps once the request for extradition of Modi from Britain was received by it from the agencies probing the charges.

“The extradition request in respect of Lalit Modi is yet to be received by the ministry of external affairs from the law enforcement agencies concerned in India,” Singh told the House.
India had recently contacted Interpol and pressed its demand for an early notification of the Red Corner Notice sought by the Enforcement Department (ED) against Lalit Modi in connection with the money laundering case.
