Ola to invest Rs. 200 cr for CNG adoption in Delhi-NCR in next 6 months
NEW DELHI, MARCH 23: Bangalore-based taxi aggregator, Ola, on Wednesday said it would invest 200 crore towards green fuel technology, leasing of CNG cars and strengthening the ecosystem to catalyse CNG adoption in Delhi-NCR in the next six months.
The company said the total fleet of CNG cars now stands at over 26,000 cabs in Delhi-NCR. Ola has a total fleet of 4.50 lakh cars in 102 cities it operates in the country.
“We are committed to providing a seamless mobility experience in the state in adherence to the local regulations. At the same time empowering our driver-partners by helping them switch to CNG with no negative impact on their earnings,” Rahul Maroli, Vice President – Strategic Supply Initiatives at Ola, said.
The company switched to CNG only operations within Delhi in September last year and has since been committed to creating an ecosystem that catalyses CNG adoption in the region.
