I-T raids on Sanwaria Group reveal Rs 200 crore undisclosed income
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, As Income Tax raids on Sanwaria Group continued for the third day, investigating sleuths claimed that the group was found to be in possession of undisclosed income to the tune of Rs 200 crore.
Tax evasion by Sanwaria Group could be even more as their oil factory based in Mandideep was found having unaccounted stock of Rs 75 crore, they said.
One of the investigators claimed that apart from recovering cash and large amounts of documents, the sleuths also stumbled upon a diary in which contact numbers of call girls from across the country were listed.
The diary was found from the group headquarters – Sanwaria House and pricey foreign wine were stocked in large quantities.
Sources claimed that the group was involved in the fashion held in Bhopal with ‘escort’ service. The group had allegedly spent crores of rupees for offering expensive gifts to IAS and IPS officers on Diwali and other occasions.
However, the group owner Anil Agrawal, being a chartered accountant is giving a tough time to the investigators during questioning. The I-T officers after compiling evidences are preparing for initiating prosecution against him.
Sources even claimed that Agrawal using his proximity to influential people in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, is even trying to pressurize the investigators.
However, the startling revelations of incomes in the probe supervised by MP & Chhattisgarh chief commissioner Abrar Ahmed, I-T commissioner KC Ghumaria and Additionall Commissioner Neerja Pradhan, are surprising.
