Mocktale: AAP to protest against its own Jan Lokpal Bill
Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party recently introduced the anti-corruption Jan Lokpal Bill in the assembly. As is the case with anything the party does, there was a controversy after former members alleged that the Bill was nowhere close to what was promised and had been hugely altered.
“They promised a Christopher Nolan and delivered a Farah Khan. We were expecting Italian cuisine and they handed us Maggi. Anna Hazare did not go on indefinite hunger strike only to be served Maggi in the end. We will keep fighting and won’t back down until we are given Italian cuisine…err I mean the original version of Jan Lokpal Bill,” Yogendra Yadav said in a speech, which somehow appealed more to MasterChef contestants.
After Yadav’s scathing attack, the Aam Aadmi Party felt both anger and hunger. In order to make amends, the party has decided to stage a dharna against its own Jan Lokpal Bill.
“We are all aam aadmis and if the common man wants the original version of the Bill, we will support their demand and protest to make it come true,” Kejriwal announced.
Someone reminded Kejriwal that his party is in power and if he wanted, he could simply pass the original Jan Lokpal Bill rather than indulging in all this drama.
Kejriwal, who was wearing a T-shirt, which read ‘Old habits die hard’ promptly replied and said, “We are ready to pass the unedited version of the Bill if PM Narendra Modi decides to hand over Delhi Police to us. But he would not do so because a strong anti-corruption Bill would put both Ambani and Adani in danger. So it is in fact the BJP and not the AAP which is responsible for the altered Bill.”
Inspired from Kejriwal’s protest, Farah Khan has announced to launch a campaign against terrible Bollywood movies.
