CBI raid at medical college
Amravati: A CBI team swooped down on Dr Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, run by the prestigious Shri Shivaji Education Society, and launched investigations.
The team comprising three inspectors, two doctors, two witnesses and a videographer inspected various departments of the college and verified the papers.
The sudden raid gave rise to speculations, but an official, who did not wish to be named, said that the CBI was in receipt of a complaint against the college and the same was being investigated. He refused to give any details. The team was still at work when this report was filed. Dean Dr Jane could not be contacted.
In June, a 7-member team of Health University, Nashik, too had visited the college and demanded a report about the college’s functioning. CBI was in receipt of several complaints concerning malpractices in exam and admission process through its helpline, it is learnt.
