I-T sleuths raid premises of four road construction builders in Mhow and Indore
Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Income Tax sleuths undertook a major operation on Wednesday by conducting simultaneous raids at the offices of three builders in Mhow and another builder in Indore.
Around 160 IT officers along with 90 policemen undertook this massive operation while conducting searches at 20 places and surveys at seven in cantonment town Mhow and Indore.
The investigating officers targeted three builders involved in road construction in Mhow including Punit Agrawal, Ashish Agrawal and Shailendra Sinhal.
All the three are relatives and have their construction operations spread to various states apart from Madhya Pradesh.
One of them, Punit Agrawal is said to be close to Urban Administration and Development minister Kailash Agrawal and Mhow MLA Kailash Vijayvargiya.
Around half a dozen establishments belonging to these builders were raided in the action.
Another big time contractor and builder PD Agrawal was also included in the action as IT sleuths raided his Indore based offices and residences.
Agrawal has undertaken some mega projects for Indore Municipal Corporation and Indore Development Authority.
The Mhow contractor Punit runs Path India Limited construction firm and is engaged in road construction contracts.
The task of recovering toll from Indore’s MR-10 is handled by Agrawal’s company.
Agrawal’s Mall Road based Bungalow no. 76 was also searched by the IT officers.
His relative Ashish Agrawal’s Neem-gali based residence was raided by the IT sleuths along with Shailendra Sinhal’s Swarg Mandir-based residence, his house based at Sanghi Street and AB Road-based marriage garden Aqua Point.
PD Agrawal who is a board of director in Punit’s company also faced the heat as his Rani Sati Gate-based residence was also searched by the IT department.
