Delhi: FIR against Subramanian Swamy; 2G effect
New Delhi, Oct 3: Delhi police on Oct 3 filed an FIR against Janata Party President, Subramanian Swamy. Police informed that the case has been filed against the Janata Party chief over an inflammatory article.
Swamy is one of the first persons who brought 2G spectrum scam in the limelight. Citing the police’s move, many started asking, is it an effect of 2G spectrum?
Swamy can easily be termed the most fearful and outright politician in the system at the moment. Playing the role of whistle-blower with ultimate panache, Swamy is determined to bring the corrupt to book one way or the other. After exposing the roles played by Home Minister P Chidambaram and PM Manmohan Singh, his next target seems to be Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra and DMK chief M Karunanidhi in the 2G scam.
Speaking to a popular TV channel, Swamy said that he had enough evidence to nail both Vadra and Karunanidhi in the 2G scam. He had also claimed that in spite of submitting documentary proof citing Chidamabaram’s involvement, the CBI refused to question him.
Swamy, however is not completely devoid of fear, after there were threats issued by various radical groups in his name. He has therefore sought a safe government accommodation for himself somewhere in central Delhi. The matter was conveyed through a letter to PM Manmohan Singh dated Aug 23 where he stated that following the success of his petition on the 2G case and his “constructive views published in a newspaper on Islamic terror”, there was a bigger threat to his life.
