IT raids BSP parliamentarians Delhi home, Paras plants, office
The Income Tax (IT) Department conducted simultaneous search at the plants and corporate office of VRS Foods Ltd in Uttar Pradesh,Delhi,Haryana and Madhya Pradesh. Search was also conducted at the official residence of BSP parliamentarian Surendra Singh Nagar in Delhi on Thursday.
The search began in the morning and was on till late in the evening. The VRS Foods Ltd has plants of various dairy products in the brand name Paras.
Nagar, a first term MP from Gautam Budh Nagar, had resigned from the posts of VRS Foods Ltd before filing his nomination for the Lok Sabha election,confirmed his personal secretary Purnendu Roy. But the IT officials raided Nagars New Friends Colony residence in Delhi also,since his family members have stakes in the company,Roy said.
Searches were conducted at companys corporate office at Ishwar Nagar on Mathura Road,Delhi,Paras Hospital run by the company at Gurgaon and the dairy product plants at Sahibabad,Gulaothi in Bulandshahr district,Malanpur in Bhind district of MP and at Sandila in Hardoi district of UP.
A senior IT official said a team from Lucknow has been engaged in search and seizure of documents and the digital details at companys Hardoi plant. Teams from Delhi were conducting operation at the MPs official residence,the hospital in Gurgaon and other plants in Bulandshahr,Sahibabad and Bhind.
The department has been collecting details about the actual production,sale and profits of the company from various plants.
The teams have collected documents and other details about the cash transactions at various plants and the corporate office,the official said. At the MPs Delhi residence,the team has been listing the valuables,jewellery and the details of bank transactions and lockers. The operation is likely to be concluded late in the night,the IT official confirmed.
