NBA: Justin Williams suspect in rape case, Jason Kidd accused of harassment
The NBA exhibitions are on and so are the busy hands of a few basketball players. As reported earlier, the Sacramento Kings backup forward Justin Williams has been named as a suspect in a a sexual assault case, which allegedly took place at his Sacramento home. According to the police, the assault took place on Friday and they were notified the same day by the victim, a 20-year-old woman who knew Williams for some time, from the hospital in which she sought help.
The local police got a warrant and carried out a search of the home of Justin Williams on Wednesday. Spokesman for the police department said in a press conference that “several items were retrieved” from Williams’ home, but did not elaborate further. The police also said that another person was present during the assault, but did not release a name. Justin Williams was signed by the Sacramento Kings as an undrafted rookie from Wyoming last season, during which he played in 26 games.
Meanwhile New Jersey Nets star Jason Kidd is being accused by a woman that he grabbed her crouch in the Manhattan’s Tenjune Club earlier this month. According to reports unconfirmed by the New York Police Department, Kidd approached the woman and grabbed her crouch and kept on groping the woman until she left the club. The NYPD confirms that a woman has filed a harassment report against another Tenjune Club patron a week ago, but did not say if there is a complaint against Jason Kidd. According to Kidd spokesman, the accusation is “a complete fabrication and it is sad that someone would make something like this up.” Jason Kidds, while playing for the Phoenix Suns, plead guilty to spousal abuse and was ordered to take anger management classes.
